In the more than two decades since the first reports of the disease, AIDS has become a global epidemic. Worldwide, more than 65 million people are living with HIV, including over 25 million who have already died. About half of those newly infected each year are under the age of 25. An estimated 1 in 4 Amerians are currently living with HIV/AIDS. More than 550,000 Americans with AIDS have already died and over 1 million Americans are currently living with HIV/AIDS
