Bethany Children's Home Christmas Report
Christmas is a very special time for children, a time
for giving and receiving of gifts. Like children around
the world, Haitian children look forward to this tradition.
With 70% unemployment and inflation on basic food supplies
approaching 100% over the past two years there is little
if anything left over for Christmas.

The twenty-five children who call Bethany
home are blessed. Even though most have no father or
mother in Haiti they have many fathers and mothers around
the world who support them every month. They also have
a Haitian mother, Captain Paulonne Heurtelau who cares
for each child as if they were her own.

Christmas 2004, each child received a small gift (courtesy
of the Clearwater, Florida Salvation Army) and a new
towel. A bountiful Haitian Christmas meal was served
and a special treat this year was a dessert buffet table
with beautifully decorated cakes.
The children of Bethany realize they have much for
which to be thankful and that there are many children
in Haiti and around the world who receive nothing for
Christmas.
We love you,
Ron and Carol
